WWE Tag Team Name Change Confirmed

A new name for one long-standing WWE tag team has now been confirmed.

Santos Escobar has made waves on SmackDown since joining the main roster from NXT. Escobar was joined by his Legado del Fantasmo teammates Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro, who also added Zelina Vega to their ranks. A partnership with the Rey Mysterio-led LWO soon went south and Escobar found himself standing alone – but not for long.

Santos Escobar found friends in low places in December 2023 when he teamed up with the duo formerly known as Los Lotharios, Angel and Berto. Escobar reunited with Elektra Lopez as she joined WWE’s main roster and Legado del Fantasma was a force to be reckoned with again.

WWE Officially Give New Name To Tag Team

On the 16th of August edition of SmackDown, fans were introduced to a new name for the pairing of Angel and Berto as Escobar referred to them as “Los Garza.”

Fightful Select has now reported that Los Garza was the name used to refer to Angel & Berto on WWE run sheets instead of simply Legado del Fantasma. It was noted, however, that many names are used interchangeably on run sheets for shows and previous rules aren’t as strictly enforced as they used to be for them.
