WWE Tag Team Has Left The Company

A WWE tag team has departed the company, according to a new report.

The Dyad was a NXT tag team consisting of Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid. They were part of the Schism group in NXT that is led by Joe Gacy and also has Ava, The Rock’s daughter, who joined the group about one year ago.

This past week on NXT TV, Gacy and Ava were featured in an outdoor vignette. Gacy said their tree is rotten and they are more isolated than ever before. They put their hands on the tree to end the scene. The reason for the tree being shown is because Schism liked to say they were four roots with one tree as a way to say they were a united group.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Dyad’s Fowler and Reid have officially left WWE.

“The Dyad’s contracts expired this week. On television, they had Joe Gacy & Ava talk about how they were all alone and the other guys were gone. They had asked for a release back in April and thought they were getting it until the company decided not to. At the time they said their contracts expired in October and would be leaving then. It came across that was writing them out.”

“They are still under contract right now and thus WWE did not confirm they were gone, but they haven’t been around of late. Unless they change their minds and sign a new deal, they are gone.”

The Dyad were known as The Grizzled Young Veterans in WWE earlier in their careers

Prior to their days as The Dyad in the Schism group, Fowler and Reid were known as the Grizzled Young Veterans. That’s because they were an experienced tag team that functioned very well together.

When using the Grizzled Young Veterans name, Fowler was known as Zack Gibson while Reid was known as James Drake. They were the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions as well.

As for what’s next, the former Gibson and Drake will likely have a lot of options wrestling for other wrestling promotions around the world.
