WWE Shares Alternate Footage Of Survivor Series Mystery Attacker

WWE Mystery Attacker

There is new footage that WWE has shared of the mysterious attacker from Survivor Series.

The main event of WWE Survivor Series in San Diego was the Men’s WarGames Match. Paul Heyman’s heel team of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre & Logan picked up the big win over CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso, but they didn’t do it alone.

It was about 40 minutes into the match when CM Punk hit Logan Paul with a GTS for a two count. That’s when a guy jumped the barricade, climbed the cage, and went into the ring while everybody in the ring wondered what was going on. The person was dressed in all black with a hoodie and a mask on their face.

A stunned Punk didn’t know how to react, so the masked person hit a superkick on Punk and The Stomp on Punk. Those were Seth Rollins’ moves, but the announcers figured it wasn’t Rollins since he had surgery on his left shoulder last month and was out of action. The guy climbed up to the top of the cage and left the cage. We never saw who it was.

The other heels in the ring acted like they had no idea who it was. Bron Breakker ran the ropes and hit a Spear on Punk for the pinfall win to put an end to the WarGames match.

On social media, WWE posted a video showing the mystery attacker jumping the barricade at ringside and climbing into the cage to cause the damage that led to Heyman’s team getting the win.

As you can see in the video, the mystery attacker climbed out of the cage on the other side and left without revealing their identity.

It was reported by Fightful Select that the former US Champion Austin Theory was the man under the mask in the WarGames attack. Theory has been part of rumors involving The Vision for several months since he’s a young star on the rise like others in the group.

WWE Wanted To Bring Austin Theory Back In A Big Way

Austin Theory hasn’t competed in a match since May, and his last match that aired on television was on Main Event in July. For a few years, Theory was aligned with Grayson Waller and they were WWE Tag Team Champions together. Waller has since become an ally of The New Day.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about how WWE wanted to bring Austin Theory in a major spot like that.

“It was Austin Theory.

“The deal is, number one, they want to establish the guy, when he’s unmasked. I’m sure he’s going to end up in the Vision, because that was the plan…that was always the plan. And they don’t…it’s Austin Theory.

They need to introduce him. He was originally going to be in the match. But they need to introduce him and have him do something really significant, or else it’s…it’s Austin Theory. What’s he doing in the main event group? So that was the key to make you think there’s like…they have to bring him in with shine, and that’s what that was all about.” (H/T Wrestlinginc)

Currently, The Vision consists of WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman leading a group of wrestlers, including Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul with the idea that they are future main eventers. Theory is 28 years old, so he would fit the mold of a guy with a bright future.
