WWE SummerSlam Likely Destination For Major Title Match

It seems one recently called-off WWE title match will end up taking place at SummerSlam.

On the June 23 edition of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that a planned match between Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles was now off. The pair had been due to meet for the Intercontinental Championship at Night of Champions, but the match was cancelled.

The match was called off due to an injury sustained by Mysterio, but it seems it won’t keep him out of action for long and Styles will still get his shot at the gold.

Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles At WWE SummerSlam?

Speaking on his Q&A, WrestleVotes gave his thoughts on when he believes Dominik Mysterio will clash with AJ Styles, and it seems that could be in the works for SummerSlam:

Don’t think the match takes place the next Saturday night, think it’s too soon. Plus, that card’s filling up and they’re presenting it as this PLE, this must-watch, which it will be, but it’s only two hours, about an hour and 27 minutes with commercial. So, I think that card is gonna be full enough. So, I’d expect that match to happen at SummerSlam, and I think it’s gonna be great when it does happen. So, MetLife Stadium looks like the place for that match.

The only thing confirmed for SummerSlam so far is that Cody Rhodes will challenge for the WWE Championship and Jade Cargill will get her shot at the WWE Women’s Title.
