A statement has been issued by WWE’s management team while the company has a big meeting scheduled for later today.

The return of Vince McMahon to WWE’s Board of Directors with the intent to sell the company has led to some changes in WWE from Thursday evening to Friday morning.

Two members of WWE’s Board of Directors have resigned following the announcement of Vince’s return. One of the people that resigned, Man Jit Singh, was a member of the WWE Board that investigated Vince McMahon following his sexual misconduct scandal that led to Vince spending millions of dollars in “hush money” payments.

On the WWE corporate website, there is a statement from Chairwoman & Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon, Co-CEO Nick Khan and Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque

“Today, we announce that the founder of WWE, Vince McMahon, will be returning to the Board. We also welcome back Michelle Wilson and George Barrios to our Board of Directors. Together, we look forward to exploring all strategic alternatives to maximize shareholder value.”

They also included this to likely assure those associated with the company that the management team will remain in place, per a statement made by Vince McMahon.

As Vince McMahon stated yesterday, “WWE has an exceptional management team in place, and I do not intend for my return to have any impact on their roles, duties, or responsibilities.”

It is believed that at this point, Vince McMahon is not returning to WWE to run the creative direction of the company although in WWE, that can always change. For now, Triple H remains the man in charge of WWE’s creative direction on Raw, Smackdown and the main roster.

There is also a report from WrestlingNewsCo that “WWE has told their employees that there will be an ‘all hands on deck’ meeting later today.” The meeting is scheduled for 3:30pm ET.

Tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown on FOX takes place in Memphis, Tennessee with The Usos defending the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles. It is not currently known if Vince McMahon will be at Smackdown tonight.

In other WWE news, the stock price is up 22% about two hours after trading opened today at a price of $87.37. Clearly, Wall Street is excited about a potential WWE sale that McMahon has mentioned since making his WWE return.
