WWE Stars Want Chris Jericho Back In The Company

Chris Jericho

There remains a very real chance Chris Jericho could return to WWE.

In recent days, Chris Jericho hinted for the first time that he’d be open to returning to WWE. The star got the ball of speculation rolling after liking a social media post about leaving AEW and heading back to the company.

This was followed by a report that claimed there’s a “lot of talk around Chris Jericho” within WWE, with suggestions that he could feature at the 2026 Royal Rumble. The star’s AEW contract is believed to expire in late 2025.

Despite all things seemingly pointing to a return, it’s been reported that Chris Jericho’s name hasn’t made its way to WWE creative. One higher-up noted that it remains much too early to tell whether he’ll make it back to the company.

Chris Jericho Has Support Within WWE

While his name hasn’t been brought up to creative just yet, according to a report via Wrestle Votes Radio, there’s “significant interest” within WWE, and several active Superstars want him to come back.

“We can confirm, after speaking to our sources, that there is significant interest in Chris Jericho coming back to the WWE once his AEW contract would allow him to do so. We’re told that several within the WWE, including active talent, would like to see him return to the company…

Despite spending the last six years with AEW, Jericho has remained friendly with a number of people inside WWE, we are told, and according to that source, they ultimately do expect a deal to be completed once Chris is legally able to do so.”

Jericho wrestled his last match for WWE came at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia on April 27, 2018. However, by that point, he’d already all but left the company after his full-time run came to an end in the previous July.

During that intervening period, Jericho clashed with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 before making several more NJPW appearances after his final match with WWE. The veteran ultimately signed with AEW in January 2019 and eventually became the company’s first-ever World Champion.
