WWE Stars Are Stuntmen & Not Wrestlers Says ECW Icon

ECW originals in WWE

One ECW legend has named one WWE star that he has always wanted to face but noted he believes the person is better than the company is letting them be.

There is perhaps no one more acquainted with the daredevil style that became synonymous with ECW during the company’s heyday than Sabu.

The Homicidal Suicidal Genocidal Death-Defying Maniac went on to become one of the most unlikely WWE stars of all time in the mid-2000s when he shared the ring with the likes of John Cena, The Big Show, and his old rival Rob Van Dam. But there is one current member of the WWE roster he’d like to mix it up with.

WWE Making Finn Balor An Actor, Not A Wrestler

Speaking on Conversations with The Wrestling Classic, former ECW star Sabu revealed that he always wanted to face Finn Balor before he even became Finn Balor as part of the WWE roster:

I like Finn Balor. Before he came Finn Balor, I always wanted to wrestle him. Then, he became Finn Balor and I really wanted to wrestle him. I said to him, ‘Hey, man. Some day we gotta get together,’ and he was telling me, ‘Of course.’ But then, it never happened, because I got hurt.

Sabu added that he believes Balor is better than WWE is presenting him and noted that WWE stars are now stuntmen rather than wrestlers:

WWE guys are actors and stuntmen. They’re not wrestlers anymore. They’re making him, a wrestler, be an actor, and a stuntman. I don’t blame him. He’s getting paid.

Finn Balor’s teammate in The Judgment Day Damian Priest has reason to celebrate as he broke Drew McIntyre’s dreams at Clash at the Castle by retaining his World Heavyweight Title, albeit with a bit of help from CM Punk.
