Some WWE stars are having fun at AEW’s plans to air footage of CM Punk’s fight with Jack Perry.

On the April 10th episode of AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks will air footage of the backstage fight between CM Punk and Jack Perry at All In. Or at least that’s what’s being promoted.

The controversy between Perry, Punk, and AEW came back to the fore in recent weeks when Punk made a series of scathing comments in a recent interview. It’s been reported that Tony Khan was “very upset” with CM Punk’s interview, and this led directly to the decision to air the footage.

At All In, Punk got into a physical confrontation with Perry, after the latter made comments about using real glass in a match on the pre-show. This was in turn a reaction to an incident weeks earlier when Punk reportedly took Perry to task backstage at Collision for wanting to use real glass as part of an angle.

In reaction to the footage being shown on Dynamite, two WWE stars decided to have some fun.

Posting on social media, Grayson Waller said he was planning to show footage of himself and Austin Theory beating up the locker room.

Later today, I’m going to share exclusive security camera footage of myself and @_Theory1 beating up the entire WWE locker room backstage.

It’s time the world knows how tough the Smackdown Tag Champs really are!

In response, Dijak posted:

It’s true, I saw it. There was real glass everywhere.

Tony Khan Defends Showing CM Punk Footage

While fans and observers have questioned what AEW has to gain by airing the footage suggesting it could even have a negative impact, Khan is standing by the decision.

Speaking in a recent interview, Tony Khan dismissed claims the entire thing was an elaborate swerve, adding “This is real-life footage that affected many people.”
