WWE Stars Reference AEW Drama With CM Punk

A couple of WWE stars poked fun at CM Punk.

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk has taken an interest in NXT and helping the next generation.

Even while he was recovering from a torn triceps, Punk attended several tapings where he was given advice to talent backstage. He was also at a recent try-out during SummerSlam weekend alongside Shawn Michaels.

On October 1st, NXT will premiere on the CW Network and the brand is celebrating in style with a show in Chicago. After appearing on NXT on September 17th, it was confirmed that CM Punk would be the special guest referee in the main event between Trick Williams and NXT Champion Ethan Page.

The announcement came after Punk had found himself between Roxanne Perez and Giulia, with the NXT Women’s Champion telling him she should have been a Drew McIntyre fan.

WWE Stars Taunt CM Punk

Despite her jab on TV, Perez remains a Punk fan off-screen repeatedly talking about how she looks up to the star. So naturally, she and fellow Punk fan Cora Jade decided to have a little fun at his expense for his birthday — even though it’s not until October 26th.

Punk shared a post on his Instagram stories of a napkin covered in little pictures given him to by Jade and Perez. As well as making him for being old, the message at the top read ā€œIā€™m old & tired & I work with children.ā€

The line is a callback to Punk’s infamous appearance at the AEW All Out 2022 post-show press conference where he called out The Elite and Colt Cabana.

CM Punk will be back in action at Bad Blood when he meets Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell.
