2 WWE Stars Heading To AAA Despite Previous Exclusion

Triple H WWE

WWE is beginning to make its mark on AAA.

It’s been announced by Latin Lover that Angel and Berto will be in action at AAA’s Triplemania Regia event on June 15 in Monterrey. The event is not to be confused with Triplemania, which is due to take place on August 16 in Mexico City.

Interestingly, the SmackDown stars had previously been overlooked for WWE shows in Monterrey, despite being from the city.

AAA Wanted Top WWE Stars

Reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that The Hardys and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry are also being sent to the event. Meltzer added that this again highlights the strength and closeness of the relationship between WWE and TNA.

According to the report, AAA was also hoping to have Penta, Fenix, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and Chad Gable involved.

“I don’t know if this has been announced yet, but very interesting that the other names being sent are the Hardy brothers and Joe Hendry, which tells you about the relationship with TNA and WWE.”

“Obviously, Rey Mysterio can’t go because he tore his groin and had surgery but (AAA) were hoping for Penta, Fenix, Dominik Mysterio, Chad Gable, and big stars because it’s supposed to be a big show.”

“Angel and Berto, they’re not big WWE stars, but they are, in theory, stars in Monterrey. And the other names are the Hardys and Joe Hendry, who are not big names in Mexico, although the Hardys have been to Mexico before.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that WWE has re-signed Alberto Del Rio, while picking up deals for several AAA stars. Despite the reports, Del Rio isn’t expected to appear on WWE television, instead, he continues with his role in AAA. However, he has been added back onto WWE’s official roster page in the alumni section.
