WWE Stars Call on Company To Reverse Recent Policy Change
A WWE change hasn’t been universally popular.
Throughout 2024, WWE dramatically reduced its live event schedule, giving stars a much better work/life balance and a much less physically punishing career in general.
This policy has continued through 2025, but it’s not come without its drawbacks.
Younger and more inexperienced stars are wrestling far less than they used to, and many believe this is slowing their progress and training.
During an appearance on the Cheap Heat podcast, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez echoed these concerns, admitting the lack of reps has been difficult. In recent weeks, the pair were thrown into a tag team after Liv Morgan suffered a major shoulder injury.
In the past, Perez and Rodriguez would have wrestled together regularly on live events as well as on television, helping them get comfortable and try things out. However, that luxury has been taken away.
Rodriguez said that she misses live events and thinks the company should be doing more.
“A big part of me actually… I do miss them. I feel like there are missed opportunities for us, like being a part of the group, being a part of the fans, bettering ourselves as a tag team, working together, and getting those reps that we haven’t had before. And so I think we should do more of them. I really do.”
Perez added that trying out new things on television without the opportunity to practice at live events makes things even more nerve-wracking.
Seth Rollins Voices WWE Concern
During an interview in April, Seth Rollins said the lack of live events was his “biggest concern” looking to the future of WWE. Rollins explained that he and others learned their craft on live events, but that opportunity has been taken away.
He added that the only way to improve in the ring is by wrestling and performing regularly, and this lack of reps is leaving younger stars underprepared.
On night one of SummerSlam, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money In The Bank contract to pin CM Punk and become World Heavyweight Champion. Earlier in the night, Rodriguez and Perez lost the Women’s Tag Team Championship to Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
