Two WWE stars are one step closer to being crowned King or Queen of the Ring despite their matches not being aired on TV.

At a live event on May 11th in Chattanooga, Tennessee, LA Knight got the better of Santos Escobar to move into the quarter-finals of the King of the Ring. Knight will now meet Tama Tonga on the May 17th episode of SmackDown.

On the same card, Tiffany Stratton defeated Michin to advance to the quarter-finals of the Queen of the Ring. Up next for Stratton is a huge match with Bianca Belair – also on the upcoming episode of SmackDown. Belair got past Candice LeRae in the first round.

Kofi Kingston & Shayna Baszler Move On In WWE Tournaments

One night later at the WWE live event in Macon, Georgia, two more quarter-finalists emerged as Kofi Kingston won the battle of former WWE Champions against Rey Mysterio. Kingston now has his work cut out for him as he will face Gunther in the next round.

Zelina Vega had been pulled out of the Queen of the Ring tournament during the day leading to her being replaced by Maxxine Dupri. Dupri faced off with Shayna Baszler with Baszler claiming the win. Baszler’s next round opponent is former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.
