WWE Star Rules Out WrestleMania Match Due To Drug Testing Rules

One WWE name seemingly won’t be getting back in the ring.

Pat McAfee returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble acting as guest commentator for the men’s Rumble match. He was also briefly involved in the action, entering at number 22, but he quickly eliminated himself before getting physically involved.

Although McAfee is now a permanent fixture at the Raw announce desk, fans have wondered whether he could get back in the ring after impressing in previous outings.

However, appearing on All The Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, McAfee ruled out a match at WrestleMania 40 as he doesn’t think he’d pass a drug test.

In Philly? (McAfee was asked if he’ll be at WrestleMania 40 to compete) I don’t know dude. So I got a lot of science pumping through me right now. When you retire, I said, hey, I want that rich guy stuff. What are these rich guys taking that I see on Instagram? That are all — don’t get fat. I don’t know how it works, because with my particular build, if I eat pizza four times, fat ass. Fat ass and the football season is long and every year I’ve gained 50-to-60 pounds since retiring.

So, this year I’m like, I’m gonna get on the rich guy stuff that cheats and keeps me thin. Not as full as the Ozempic move but, I’m not against it. I will head to that route in a couple years if I have to. So I’m on a bunch of stuff…

Not a clue (McAfee responded when asked does he know the long-term effects of what he’s doing). Am I gonna die? Who knows. Probably. They say everybody is. But is this one gonna take years off my life? Maybe. But was that gonna happen anyways? We don’t know. I’ve always said too, if I have something that’s gonna kill me that we might be able to have a cure for some day, I would like to be frozen until we find the cure.

Bring my ass back 2120, two thousand, one hundred twenty years in there. Think about me getting dropped in that society. I’ll be f*cking pumped up about it. All that being said, I don’t think I could pass any drug tests for a WrestleMania, because they drug test people so that’s real deal… and I’m on everything I think they’re testing for.

Matt Riddle Admits Failing Two WWE Drug Tests

The comments from McAfee come just days after Matt Riddle revealed he failed two tests while with WWE for cocaine.

Back in December 2022, Riddle was written off television after a vicious attack by Solo Sikoa. At the time his absence was shrouded in mystery, but it was subsequently reported it was due to a failed drug test. Furthermore, this wasn’t the first time Matt Riddle had failed a WWE test, with a report noting that his match against Seth Rollins that summer had been moved because of another failed test.
