History has been made as one WWE star has claimed championship gold but not in the company they’re contracted to.

Omos’ last televised singles match in WWE took place in May 2023 when Seth Rollins defeated him at Backlash. Since then his TV appearances have been reduced to battle royals and the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble. His last outing of any kind was the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 40.

However, despite his absence, it seems Omos is still a wanted man as the shocking announcement was made that he was the mystery star Pro Wrestling NOAH has been teasing. Omos teamed up with former Cowdenbeath FC striker Jack Morris to challenge Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura for the GHC Tag Team Championship on January 1 at Budokan Hall at The New Year 2025. And history was made.

Omos Wins Gold Outside WWE

Omos was made an official member of Team 2000X and now he and the Kingdom of Fife’s biggest wrestling star Jack Morris are the GHC Tag Team Champions after they picked up a huge win. Omos is the first WWE star to win gold with Pro Wrestling NOAH as part of their working relationship together while Morris is almost certainly the first Fifer to win gold in Japan.

Omos dubbed himself ‘The Super Megaweight’ after the win and claimed that there was nobody alive better than him.

Omos’ WWE future remains uncertain and a former WWE Champion revealed several stars wanted Omos fired by the company.
