WWE Star Willing To Get As Mean As Needed For John Cena Match
Grayson Waller will do whatever it takes to get a match against John Cena before he hangs up his jorts for good.
Back in July, John Cena announced his plans to retire from WWE in 2025. The star plans to wrestle throughout the year before leaving the ring behind in December. Since he announced the news, multiple stars have made their intentions to get in the ring with the 16-Time World Champion before the opportunity passes them by.
Now, Grayson Waller has thrown his hat into the ring. The Australian star has faced off with Cena on the microphone before, and at Money in the Bank in 2023 even received an Attitude Adjustment from the star, but the two have never gone one-on-one in the ring.
Speaking on Wide World of Sports, Waller said he wanted Cena to “test him” in the ring, seeing him as a gateway to big things.
“I’ve had the opportunity to be in there with him on the microphone, but I’ve never had the opportunity to be tested by him in the ring. And I think that’s what Cena does: test people. He’s a measuring stick. You go against John Cena; you show that you belong. So many guys have gone in there and afterwards gone on to big things because they passed the test. And I want the hottest test, and I think that is it.”
To get the match, Waller says he will say whatever he has to, including the “meanest things possible.”
“If he’s only here for one more year, I’m gonna say whatever I have to say to make that happen. I’m gonna say the meanest things possible. And I already know I have his attention, and I think it’s time to double down and really show that I’m the kinda guy that you put in against Cena at the end.”
NXT Star Wants To Face John Cena Before He “Leaves Us Alone”
Former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi has joined the stars wanting a match against John Cena during his final year in the ring. The rising star was naming the wrestlers he wants to face on the main roster when he dropped Cena’s name, saying he wants to compete against him before he retires and “leaves us alone.”
