Unpopular WWE Star Wants To Take John Cena’s Spot As Locker Room Leader

John Cena WWE Talk

John Cena’s time in WWE is coming to an end.

Although they teamed together as recently as Money In The Bank, the relationship between John Cena and Logan Paul has taken a substantial dip in recent weeks.

On that occasion, the pair teamed up in defeat against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. However, Paul sensed an opportunity after Cena turned babyface and lost the Undisputed WWE Championship back to Rhodes.

After that defeat at SummerSlam, Cena was attacked by Brock Lesnar. On the following episode of SmackDown, Cena sent a warning to Lesnar, but Paul stepped up with a challenge of his own, commenting that a match between them would be box office.

It was then announced that John Cena will face Logan Paul at Clash In Paris. Cena’s expected match with Lesnar is likely to follow at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

Logan Paul Wants To Overthrow John Cena

While looking ahead to Clash In Paris on his Impaulsive podcast, Paul broke down the impact that Cena has had on him and WWE as a whole. The former United States Champion explained that he’s learned from Cena both in and out of the ring, but it’s now time to use that knowledge to move past him.

“John Cena is the greatest of all time. For now. I intend to be the greatest of all time, if not one of the greatest of all time. I want my name thrown in the hat. A way to do that is to go toe-to-toe with John Cena in every facet of wrestling. That’s on the mic, that’s in the ring, that’s even backstage interacting with people — there’s a real thing when it comes to being a locker room leader.

The guy who leads the company and is the face of the company is respectful to everyone in the crew, to everyone that makes this well-oiled machine work. John Cena has been that guy for 20-25 years, and I fully believe I have the capacity to do all of that. I’ve taken my notes, I’ve learned from him. He’s the master.

I got to tag team with him and learn from him, but now I’m going to use the things he taught me to beat his f*cking ass in front of everyone in Paris. The fact that I get to wrestle him in France in front of the entire world as an outsider — go f*ck yourself, I’m not an outsider, I belong here, and I intend to show everyone that in Paris.”

During an interview of his own, John Cena described Logan Paul as “unlikeable” but admitted that he remains a very real threat in their match in Paris. He added that this has caused the YouTube star to be underrated by sections of WWE’s fanbase.
