WWE Star Wants Jon Moxley To Re-Sign With Company
Would Jon Moxley ever return to WWE?
After making a name for himself on the independent scene, often in the most violent ways possible, Jon Moxley signed with WWE in 2011.
The star was quickly renamed Dean Ambrose, and he went on to form part of The Shield alongside Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Moxley enjoyed a glittering run with WWE but often found himself behind Reigns and Rollins in the pecking order after The Shield fell apart.
Things came to a head in 2019 when Moxley announced his intention to leave the company after growing increasingly frustrated with the “hokey” creative given to his character.
After his departure from WWE, Moxley wasted little time in signing with AEW and has since become the first four-time World Champion in the company’s history.
Karrion Thinks It Would Be “Insane” To See Jon Moxley Back In WWE
Back in 2019, before he landed in WWE, Karrion Kross called out Moxley, and the pair met in the ring at FSW Natural Born Killers. From there, a bond was formed, and they’ve remained friends ever since.
During an appearance on the Battleground podcast, Kross recalled that match with Moxley and admitted he’d love to see the AEW World Champion return to WWE before all is said and done.
“Jon’s a former WWE champion. He’s competed and performed with some of the best people in the world. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, The Shield. I didn’t know him. I put out a promo attempting to pique intrigue to see if that’s a match people wanted. They wanted it. He didn’t know me. I didn’t know him.
I really wanted to work with him as soon as I found out that he wasn’t signed, and he showed up. We didn’t know each other. We worked, and then as soon as we got backstage, it feels weird talking about somebody else giving you compliments about your work. It is.
But he was very complimentary, and that’s where that conversation began and not to stir the pot, but I just, I want Jon to be happy wherever he is. I do hope one day. I do hope one day that he does come back to WWE because I think it would be insane.
I think it would be insane, and I would love to compete with him here. I would love to compete with him here so we can finish what we started. That’s what I will say.
In an earlier interview, Karrion Kross revealed it was Jon Moxley who urged him to reach out to WWE in the hope of earning a contract. Once the wheels were in motion, Kross signed with WWE in early 2020 before being released in November 2021 after winning the NXT Championship twice.
Kross and his wife Scarlett returned to the company in August 2022.
