WWE Star Wants Custom Championship Belt
WWE NXT star Tony D’Angelo has plans for his North American Championship belt.
On the October 8th edition of NXT, Tony D’Angelo finally overcame Oba Femi to win the North American Title. However, the pair’s feud didn’t end there, as Femi received a rematch at Halloween Havoc, this time in a ‘Tables, Ladders, and Scares’ match.
As well as the traditional tables, ladders, and chairs, the brutal match saw the pair using zip ties and even a crowbar before The Don finally put Femi away with a Spinebuster through a table.
Ahead of the bout, D’Angelo was a guest on The Ringer Wrestling Worldwide and revealed his plans to give the North American Title an Italian makeover. With him retaining the title for another day, it remains to be seen if Shawn Michaels will grant his request.
“I was going to speak to Shawn [Michaels] and request that we get some kind of Italian flair to the title. It’s a nice looking belt, don’t get me wrong, it’s a good looking belt. But, I just think the red, white, and green would give it a little more pop.
“So, we’ll see what I can do. We’ll see if ‘The Don’ can have a business meeting with Shawn and I might have to bring Luca [Crusifino] and Stacks [Lorenzo.]”
