WWE Star Undergoes Serious Neck Surgery
Former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Erik is beginning the long road back to the ring after undergoing neck fusion surgery.
Erik last competed in a WWE ring on the 14th of September edition of Main Event where he and his Viking Raiders partner Ivar defeated Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. That match proved to be the last of Benjamin’s WWE career as he was released by the company just a few days later. Shelton Benjamin broke his silence about his WWE exit not long after.
Erik Face Long Road Back To WWE
Taking to social media, Erik revealed that he has now undergone surgery on his C6/C7 vertebrae, saying that it was a success as he thanks the doctors and WWE for his care:
I cannot express the proper gratitude and thankfulness to the amazing Dr Cordover and his incredible staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL and to @wwe for always making sure I have the best care possible.
C6 / C7 fusion surgery was successful and recovery begins now. I’m excited for all the possibilities once my cybernetic upgrades come fully online.
With Erik set to be on the sidelines for several months, his tag team partner Ivar is set for a singles run in the company after impressing those backstage.
