WWE Star Twists Knife With Bryan Danielson Shout Out
A former WWE Champion has a lot of love for Bryan Danielson.
On December 2nd, the New Day celebrated their tenth anniversary, but as it turned out there was very little to be happy about.
Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston blasted Big E for turning his back on them after he suffered a broken neck. They claimed their now former friend had chosen a new desk job and girlfriend over them, and that he hadn’t made enough of an effort to get cleared to return.
During the emotionally charged promo, Kingston pointed to legends such as Steve Austin and Edge who had suffered injuries and returned, making the point that if they could do it, why couldn’t Big E?
During a new interview with Baby Huey, Kingston heaped praise on Bryan Danielson while making sure to point out that he came back to the ring after a serious injury.
“Daniel Bryan, I think, is one of the greatest. He’s gotta be a top five of all time for a lot of different reasons [beginning with] resiliency.”
“I mean, he’s a guy who broke his neck and came back [after] people said he wasn’t gonna be able to do it. You have to admire someone that can do that, you know?”
When sharing the clip on social media, Kingston wrote “Big shout out to Bryan Danielson!”
Bryan Danielson Might Never Wrestle Again
Although he came back from one serious injury, there’s no guarantee that the former WWE and AEW World Champion will be able to repeat the trick in 2025.
At WrestleDream Danielson ended his full-time career after a crushing defeat to Jon Moxley where he lost the AEW World Title. After the match, the American Dragon was attacked by Wheeler Yuta and stretchered out of the arena.
In the lead-up to the event, Danielson made no secret of the fact he was struggling with a series of neck problems, but it seems they’re worse than what was made public at the time.
In December, Bryan Danielson admitted he doesn’t know if he’ll wrestle again after stating it feels like he’s got a “bobblehead.” During his final months in the ring, the star revealed he occasionally lost feeling in his arms as a result of his neck problems. It’s believed the star will require surgery to fix the long-standing issues.
