WWE Star Returns To TV After 9 Months & Earns Title Match
One WWE star has made their shock return to TV for the first time in nine months and wasted little time in earning a title shot over WrestleMania weekend.
Stephanie Vaquer’s time as a double champion in WWE is over after she defeated Giulia to add the NXT Women’s Title to her NXT Women’s North American Championship.
On the April 1 edition of NXT, Stephanie Vaquer and General Manager Ava opened the show with an announcement. Ava noted that the NXT Women’s North American Title deserved to be defended frequently so Vaquer was being asked to vacate the title. A new champion will be determined courtesy of a six-woman ladder match at NXT Stand & Deliver.
Vaquer agreed to Ava’s terms on the condition that she gets to name her NXT Women’s Title challenger at Stand & Deliver.
Zaria, Sol Ruca, Kelani Jordan, Izzi Dame, and Lola Vice had all qualified for the ladder match leaving just one spot left. By the time the April 15 edition of NXT ended, however, everyone knew who that was.
Thea Hail Makes Long-Awaited WWE Return
Karmen Petrovic faced former Chase U member Thea Hail in the final qualifying match with Hail picking up a dominant win. This is the first time fans have seen Hail in action on TV in nine months as she disappeared once Chase U was forced to disband.
During her comeback appearance on TV, Hail had new entrance music and ran into her former teacher Andre Chase. Thea Hail gave Chase her blessing to start a new version of Chase U but confirmed she wouldn’t be a part of it although the pair left things on good terms.
