WWE Star Turns Babyface After Split With Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio may seem red hot now, but his world has been internally crumbling.

On the latest WWE RAW episode, he confirmed that his Judgment Day teammate JD McDonagh was injured and would be out of action for the foreseeable future.

With the dust not yet settled on JD’s loss, Dominik suffered another setback as another ally hinted at their split with him.

The name in question is none other than El Grande Americano, who turned babyface for the first time.

“Dirty” Dom and Americano had been in cahoots, much to the chagrin of his stablemates. Americano even helped him win multiple matches through interferences in the past.

More recently, the two luchadors teamed up at AAA Guerra de Titanes to face Rey Fenix and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

El Grande Americano Splits With WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio

The original match featured Rey Fenix and Penta taking on Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano.

However, Penta was unable to compete after suffering an injury on the November 24 episode of WWE RAW, resulting in Rey Mysterio being announced as his replacement.

The match itself was highly entertaining, as the four luchadors engaged in an intense battle and high-speed action.

In the closing minutes, Penta interfered in the match, stealing Americano’s metal plate. He lodged it into his own mask and nailed Dominik with a headbutt.

Rey Mysterio then hit the WWE Intercontinental Champion with a 619 and followed it up with a splash for the victory.

After the match, Americano checked on his teammate, who shoved him and left for the bach.

Inside the ring, Rey celebrated with Fenix and Penta, but waited for Americano to turn back. When he did, Rey extended his hand, which Americano shook before exiting the ring.
