Plans Changed For WWE Star Joining The Judgment Day
There were rumors of The Judgment Day stable growing in WWE, but that plan has been halted for now.
During the WWE Draft over two months ago, some NXT wrestlers were drafted to the main roster. One of them was JD McDonagh, who had successful runs on the NXT UK brand before being a main event level player in NXT in the second half of 2022 as well as at the start of this year.
Back in May after the WWE Draft, there were rumors of McDonagh being added to The Judgment Day, but it wasn’t confirmed at the time.
The Judgment Day foursome consists of Finn Balor, Senor Money in the Bank Damian Priest, Women’s World Champion, and the new NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio as well. The trio of Balor, Priest & Ripley have been together for over one year ago while Dominik has been with the group for ten months since September 2022.
There were teases of McDonagh potentially working with The Judgment Day because of backstage segments with Balor, who actually trained McDonagh to be a wrestler. Balor was seen in the background of a McDonagh interview in the past and Balor has also been seen talking face to face with McDonagh on camera as well.
In an update on WWE’s storyline plans, WRKD Wrestling on Twitter commented that the plans to add McDonagh to The Judgment Day have been halted. McDonagh wrestled Apollo Crews during the WWE Main Event tapings this past Monday prior to Raw.
While this doesn’t necessarily mean that JD McDonagh will never join The Judgment Day, it appears that for now WWE is content with keeping The J-Day as a four-person group, which might be for the best.
