WWE Star Makes Strange Claim About Working For Triple H
One WWE veteran wants to prove to Triple H why they deserve more opportunities.
After her contract went down to the wire, Natalya re-signed with WWE in July 2024. However, that deal has coincided with something of a down period in her career, and multiple absences from main roster television.
However, early in 2025, it was announced that the veteran would be stepping outside of WWE in search of a new challenge. During WrestleMania week, the star stepped into the ring with Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, marking her first non-WWE or WWE developmental match since 2007.
Natalya will now follow that up with an appearance at the NWA’s Crockett Cup event on May 17, where she’ll challenge Kenzie Paige for the NWA Women’s World Championship.
Natalya Says She Isn’t Owed Anything By Triple H Or WWE
In a new interview with the Toronto Sun, Natalya opened up about her desire to test herself outside of WWE and her current role within the company. The former Women’s Champion said that while she’s more motivated than ever, she doesn’t feel Triple H owes her a storyline despite her new contract and long-standing commitment to the company.
“I just feel so alive and I feel so free and it’s so cool that I’m being allowed to do these outside projects with WWE’s full blessing. As I’ve mentioned before and I’ve said this to a lot of other people, I am not comfortable just taking a paycheck and just coasting and just hoping that the writers at WWE think of something for me to do.
I would have never survived in WWE 18 plus years, which is unprecedented for a female in WWE, no other woman in the industry, no one has ever done this at the level that I’ve done it for 18 uninterrupted years…
The division is more competitive than it’s ever been. So, I understand, to be honest, Triple H doesn’t owe me anything. Triple H doesn’t owe me a storyline, he doesn’t owe me a phone call, he doesn’t owe me a text, he doesn’t owe me an email, he doesn’t owe me a single thing.
Natalya went on to dive into her motivation to prove she’s still one of the best in the game despite her longevity and success.
“Let me give you the performance of a lifetime when I am 18 years deep in my career and I am sleeping in silk sheets driving a beautiful car, living in a beautiful home, and surrounded by Persian cats.
I could be complacent, I could be lazy, I could be entitled, I could be spoiled, but I choose to train a ring with no air conditioning. I choose to train people on my days off. I train myself. I love the dungeon, it’s my greatest luxury to have that, to have my own ring.
For me, my message has always been, let me show you, let me work for it. I love fighting for something, I do my best work fighting for my life.
That’s why these shows, NWA, and that’s why Bloodsport was so important to me and I’m asking Triple H to do more outside shows because I’m not expecting Triple H to include me in the women’s division. He doesn’t owe that to me, the company doesn’t owe that to me. But I’m going to show him, I’m going to earn my way back into the women’s division.
That’s what I’m doing, I’m putting my money where my mouth is.”
Natalya has wrestled just seven times across Raw, SmackDown, and Premium Live Events since signing her latest contract with WWE in July 2024. During this period, she’s wrestled regularly on Main Event and Speed, while continuing to appear in backstage segments.
