WWE Star Got Standing Ovation Backstage After Publicly Calling Out Bosses

One WWE star felt the support of the locker room after calling out management.

After missing out on having a match at WrestleMania 41, Karrion Kross took aim at just about everyone in an explosive interview that only caused his popularity to soar further.

In the expletive-laden rant, Kross called out AJ Styles and Logan Paul, whose match he’d interfered with at the event, and told “the guy in the suit and tie” to “go f*ck themselves.”

During a new interview with Ariel Helwani, Kross was asked about the promo and quickly dismissed one fan theory that he was simply complaining. He explained that he was standing up for himself and showing that he’s ready to work, before adding that he got a standing ovation backstage.

“It’s not complaining. It’s using your voice and speaking up to say, ‘Hey, I’m here. I want to be here, and I wanna give you the best of what I have.’

In general [laughs], I got a standing ovation, I won’t drop names. But I got a standing ovation when I saw everyone the following day, which felt awesome. I had no idea that was going to resonate the way it did with people. A few people even came to me in tears, saying thank you for saying what you said.

I was just being honest. I had an open criteria that day, and I told them, I said ‘People are gonna watch this. I have something to say, and I have a feeling people are gonna wanna hear this.'”

Karrion Kross Did Get Heat Backstage In WWE

Despite the positive reaction from some, Karrion Kross admitted that he “sort of” got heat backstage for his comments. He added that “not everyone was thrilled” with what he had to say.

Kross initially signed with WWE in 2020 after spells with TNA, Lucha Underground, and MLW, among others. Flanked by his wife Scarlett, the star won the NXT Championship before being called up to Monday Night Raw.

However, to the disbelief of just about everyone, he was repackaged immediately and never given a chance to shine. Kross and Scarlett were released in November 2021, but returned to the company in August 2022 with Triple H now in creative control.
