WWE Star Shockingly Wins First Singles Title At TNA Final Resolution
A veteran WWE superstar finally won singles gold at the TNA Final Resolution PLE.
The ongoing battles between WWE NXT and TNA superstars continued at the TNA Final Resolution PLE on December 5th.
One of the big title matches on the show saw TNA’s Steve Maclin defending the International Championship against WWE NXT’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.
During his NXT career so far, Stacks was part of the mafia stable led by Tony D’Angelo, but that disintegrated earlier this year, and Stacks became a solo heel wrestler. While Stacks has been paired with his fiancĂ©e Arianna Grace in storylines of late, he hasn’t had a major push on the NXT brand.
WWE’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo Wins TNA International Title
At Final Resolution, Stacks was joined by fellow NXT wrestler Lexis King. In the later stages of the match, Maclin dealt with King by hitting him with a clothesline. After the referee was distracted for a few minutes, Stacks hit Maclin with King’s cane, and Stacks covered Maclin for the pinfall win to the TNA International Title.
For Stacks, it is the first time he has held a singles title in WWE or TNA, so it was obviously a big moment for him in his young career. Stacks is the current NXT Heritage Cup as well, but that’s been taken off TV and isn’t treated the same as a title belt.
At the end of the show, the NXT wrestlers, including Stacks, teased burning down the ring, but they were attacked by TNA wrestlers. During the melee, TNA’s Director of Authority Santino Marella went into the ring as well. That led to a moment where Stacks punched Santino, who is about to be his father-in-law since he is Arianna Grace’s father.
Even though TNA announced a big deal with AMC TV this week to bring Impact to AMC in January 2026, the working relationship with WWE is expected to continue, which is good for wrestlers like Stacks and other NXT talent looking for more TV time.
