WWE Star Set For Big Push After Personal Meeting With Triple H
On October 6, it was announced that Santos Escobar’s WWE contract had expired.
However, within 48 hours, reports claimed that he had re-signed just when talks about him becoming AEW’s next signee were heating up.
Sources revealed that Escobar got a personal meeting with Triple H, as he had requested, to discuss his future in the company.
That meeting not only brought him another run in the Stamford promotion but also a hefty paycheck.
All that said, that was over two months ago, and he has yet to make his first appearance. The good news is that WWE has not forgotten about him.
WWE Star Santos Escobar To Get Major Push In AAA
One of the best investments WWE made in 2025 was the acquisition of AAA Lucha Libre, a Mexican wrestling promotion.
Since buying the company, both promotions have jointly hosted various supershows, which have been well-received by fans and critics alike.
During a recent episode of the Self Made Pro podcast, Santos Escobar became a topic of discussion. According to the panel, the 41-year-old is being discussed for a major push in AAA.
Also waiting in the wings—and you can expect this very soon in Triple A—is Santos Escobar, who’s set to get a big push. They’ve wanted to push him pretty much since the partnership began.
The panel members also discussed WWE’s initial plans, where they planned on putting the AAA Mega Championship on Escobar, but were forced to pivot by how wrestlers like Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano were well-received.
There were early plans for him to win the Mega Championship, but that was before Dominik got so over in Triple A, before El Grande Americano got so over, and before they assumed Vikingo would be a babyface. Now they’re going to circle back to those plans with Santos. [H/T: Ringside News]
