WWE Star Feels Safer In Saudi Arabia Than Most Of The U.S.

A current WWE star has made his feelings clear about having WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.

The Stamford-based company has had a long-standing relationship with the Saudi government for several years. WWE has held many shows in the Arab state over the past few years, with Royal Rumble set to take place in Riyadh in January 2026.

Earlier this year, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, announced that WrestleMania 43 will also be hosted in Riyadh in 2027.

The announcement was met by huge backlash from American fans, with even some former WWE stars claiming Saudi Arabia was unsafe due to the conflicts in the Middle East.

Titus O’Neil Supports WWE Going To Saudi Arabia

Titus O’Neil has previously competed with WWE in Saudi Arabia. In a recent interview with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, the former Tag Team Champion claimed he felt safer in the Arab country than in many places in the United States.

The current WWE Ambassador pointed out that people do not hear about mass shootings in Saudi Arabia, China, or Japan, unlike the U.S. He even suggested people would change their views about the Gulf state if they visited it.

I can say this, because I’ve been to Saudi Arabia several times now. I feel safer in Saudi Arabia than I do in most places, or a lot of places, in the United States of America…. You don’t hear about mass shootings in Saudi Arabia. You don’t hear about mass shootings in China. You don’t hear about mass shootings in Japan.

I think if people went over to Saudi Arabia, or had a chance to go there, their views would change dramatically…So my perspective of us going to Saudi Arabia for WWE, yeah it’s business, but it’s also changing cultures. When we first went over there, women were just now getting introduced to being able to drive. Things are changing over there, and so many people have this mindset that, in America, it’s like, if somebody talks about race, well that was so long ago…
