WWE Star Running Out Of Time For WarGames Return
One WWE star could be set to miss out on a major role at Survivor Series, leaving one WarGames team looking for a final partner.
Survivor Series now means WarGames in WWE as teams of five strive to survive in a double-ring cage match. This year looks to have The Vision at the centre of the bout despite them brutally betraying Seth Rollins as an injury forced him to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship.
It had been rumoured that Brock Lesnar and, more incredibly, Austin Theory would join Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed in WarGames. But Rollins’ spot, at least, has now been filled.
On the November 3rd edition of Raw, Logan Paul surprised everyone when he came to CM Punk’s aid in a two-on-one fight against The Vision. However, by the end of the night, Paul’s true self shone through when he betrayed Punk and joined The Vision.
WWE Injury Issues Cause WarGames Change
If Lesnar and Theory join up with Paul Heyman’s trio of menaces, that would make an imposing team of five. But who they’d go up against is still somewhat up in the air.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that one WWE star was planned to be part of the match but could also be forced to miss out due to injury:
The other thing is, Seth’s [Rollins] replacement in War Games is gonna be Logan Paul and, even though Punk did his thing of knocking Roman Reigns, that’s still the plan. Punk, Roman Reigns, The Usos on that team, probably with LA Knight as the other guy. Jacob [Fatu] was supposed to be in it but he’s just had his surgery so it depends if he’s okay by the end of the month.
Jacob Fatu is out of action due to needing dental surgery. He was written off TV by virtue of a mysterious backstage attack.
2024’s WarGames match saw CM Punk join up with Roman Reigns, setting up the chain of events that caused Paul Heyman to stab both men in the back and align with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41.
