WWE Star Compares Rivalry To Hulk Hogan And Randy Savage Feud
Who is the new Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage?
When WWE Raw debuts on Netflix on January 6th, CM Punk will finally get his hands on Seth Rollins.
The rivalry between the pair has been building for over a decade and Rollins made no secret of the fact he didn’t want Punk to return to WWE in 2023. Despite their issues, Punk and Rollins have a lengthy association going back to 2012 when Rollins made his main roster debut as part of The Shield, acting on behalf of Punk.
During an interview with Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco on Night Cap, Punk said that while he’d like to think he’ll move on from Rollins following Raw, he doesn’t expect that to be the case. The star went on to compare his relationship and rivalry with Rollins to Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.
For well over a decade, Hogan and Savage had a troubled on-and-off friendship both in and out of the ring, despite vast portions of their careers being intertwined.
“I would love to say that I’m moving on to bigger and better things. I would love to be wrong about that, too. This is one of those (Hulk ) Hogan-(Randy) Savage deals that is going to go on for as long as the beef has already been festering. Ten-plus years, we’re talking a decade here. I don’t think, even as big of a night, debuting on Netflix, and no matter how bright the lights are, this one is going to fester for a while,”
WWE Agrees New Hulk Hogan Deal
Meanwhile, WWE has announced a new multi-year deal with Hulk Hogan. As part of the deal, WWE will become a minority owner of Hogan’s Real American Beer company, and its logo will be featured on the ring canvas for Monday Night Raw moving forward.
Hogan is expected to appear on the January 6th edition of Raw despite all of his more recent appearances receiving a largely negative reaction from fans. The show will also feature The Rock and John Cena, but talks to bring in Stone Cold Steve Austin reportedly fell apart.
