WWE Name Retires From The Ring
A former WWE star and NXT champion has hung up their boots according to Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom.
Oney Lorcan was best known on the wrestling scene outside of WWE as Biff Busick, but he joined up to be part of the NXT brand in 2015. His time on the developmental brand is best remembered for his run as NXT Tag Team Champion alongside Danny Burch and their role in Pat McAfee’s Kings of Wrestling stable that took on The Undisputed ERA in WarGames.
In November 2021, Lorcan was released from his contract at his request but he returned to the company in October 2022 to work as a coach at the Performance Center.
Speaking on Real Radio Monsters, Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom discussed his role in WWE and seemed to confirm that Lorcan – real name Chris Girard – has hung up his boots and is focussing solely on his new role:
“My position now as a head coach, I oversee my coaches. I have an amazing staff, so I gotta give props to those guys.
“Terry Taylor, Fit Finlay, Robbie Brookside, Norman Smiley, Steve Corino, Alexander Winkler, ‘Oney Lorcan’ Chris Girard, who just recently retired from being in the ring, Johnny Moss, and we have a few UK coaches that are on the cusp of being full-time coaches as well.”
