WWE Star Reflects On Recent Run Ahead Of Exit

MVP and Bobby Lashley backstage in WWE

MVP has looked back on his decade back in WWE.

In recent weeks, there have been reports that MVP will leave WWE once his contract expires. The star returned to the company at the 2020 Royal Rumble after a decade away. Later that year, he became Bobby Lashley’s manager, with the pair joining up with Shelton Benjamin and later Cedric Alexander to form The Hurt Business.

Over the following months, the group saw a lot of success, with Lashley holding the WWE Championship while Benjamin and Alexander capturing the Raw Tag Team Titles. When Benjamin and Alexander lost the titles, Lashley split from them, effectively ending the faction.

MVP continued managing Lashley for some months after the split, but turned on him in April 2022 when he instead aligned himself with Omos. This led to a short feud that ended when Lashley defeated Omos and MVP in a handicap match at that year’s Hell in a Cell event.

MVP has continued to manage Omos since then, and last appeared accompanying the star for the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the eve of WrestleMania 40.

MVP Looks Back On WWE Run

With his future up in the air, MVP took to Instagram to give his thoughts on the last decade, saying it was originally meant to be a one-off appearance.

“I came back so my baby boy could see “Daddy” in a WWE ring. “The Royal Rumble.” That’s all I wanted. A one off. I was ready to retire.

“Then, I received an offer to become a producer. The pandemic hit. I became a producer AND a commentator for Main Event.

“Next, they asked me to put the boots on and help out with TV during the “PC Era”. One episode of RAW, “MVP” was in NINE segments! Heyman agreed to put me and Roberto together. I signed a full time talent contract. And then we made history. What a ride!!!!”

As well as MVP, it has been reported that Bobby Lashley will also leave WWE at the end of his current deal.
