WWE nearly lost a major part of Monday Night Raw.

Wrestling contracts have been a huge topic in 2024 with several WWE getting close to free agency. Although Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, and others signed new contracts, Becky Lynch allowed her WWE deal to expire as she went on hiatus. Although there have been hints she may have agreed a new deal.

There was also a great deal of speculation around Chad Gable, who despite enjoying the best run of his career, appeared on the brink of becoming a free agent. But despite contract talks only being held at the 11th hour, Gable is set to stay with WWE for the foreseeable future.

Appearing on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Gable discussed his options as his contract expiry neared, and surprisingly admitted he could have left wrestling altogether.

“It’s great for everybody to have options. Everybody will quickly jump to the conclusion that if I were to not re-sign, I’d be going somewhere else. The reality is, the Masters Degree thing is real. I do have the Degrees and I have other interests. Motion graphics, filmmaking, all these things. Production is very interesting to me and a passion of mine.

I thought a cool aspect that some people tend to do is that when their contracts come up or when they’re done wrestling, they just disappear and ride off into the sunset. It’s not some big fanfare. That’s the way I always saw myself. Who knows. I don’t know what I would have done.

I may have tried to go to Hollywood and tried making films or title sequences. I don’t know where my head was at. I was kind of open to everything for awhile there as I was considering it. I always like the idea of once you’re done, just drift off and people say goodbye and that’s it, you’re done,”

Chad Gable Heading To WWE Money In The Bank

Chad Gable is set to take part in the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match on July 6th alongside Jey Uso, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, LA Knight, and Drew McIntyre.

While he’s trying to focus on claiming the Money In The Bank briefcase, Gable has also been targeted by the recently debuted Wyatt Sicks.
