WWE Star Reacts To Accidental Title Win: “Do You Believe This?”
WWE star Thea Hail has found the words to describe how she feels after winning a title she wasn’t supposed to win.
In recent weeks, Thea Hail has formed a partnership with Joe Hendry as she looks to get her WWE career back on track following the end of the popular Chase U.
Hail was given a shot at the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Blake Monroe on the December 16th edition of NXT. But few expected Hail to win the match, and that includes those booking the show.
During the bout, Thea Hail attempted a pin on Monroe after hitting a springboard senton, and instead of kicking out to lift her shoulder off the mat, Monroe simply lifted her hand. The referee called the action as if it were real, counting the fall and declaring Hail the winner and the new NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Thea Hail Makes WWE Dream Come True
After the bout, an emotional Thea Hail expressed what the win meant to her in an interview with Kelly Kincaid released by WWE on social media:
Kelly, I’ve been crying for the past 25 minutes. I don’t have any more tears to cry. I, me, Thea Hail your new Women’s North American Champion. I’ve been here since I was 18. Can you believe it? I was in Chase U, I’ve had friends, I’ve not had friends, I’ve always wanted a championship and I’ve finally….I have done this today. Do you see? It says Blake Monroe. But, it’s going to say Thea Hail pretty soon. Kelly, Kelly, do you believe this?
Believed in herself, and the world rewarded her! 🙌@theahail_wwe is the new Women's North American Champion, and it could possibly be the worst day of @BlakeMonroeWWE's life…@JordynneGracepic.twitter.com/d5LSlbmqKW
