WWE Star Pulled From Shows After Nasty Incident
One WWE star has been pulled from shows leaving their Royal Rumble status in doubt after suffering a nasty kick on Raw.
On the January 20 edition of Raw, Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and IYO SKY teamed together to defeat the Pure Fusion Collective’s Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. But that was not the whole story.
During the match, Stark nailed Kai with a springboard dropkick from the top rope, wiping her out with Kai suffering a nasty landing. Many were worried about her condition and it seems WWE is taking precautions.
Dakota Kai Pulled From WWE Shows
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer was the first to report that Dakota Kai was placed in concussion protocol following the nasty-looking dropkick. PWInsider has now followed up by reporting that Kai has been pulled from WWE shows as a result. It was noted that there is no timetable for her return and it remains to be seen if she’ll be back in time for the Royal Rumble on February 1.

Dakota Kai was only able to return to the ring in November 2024 after suffering a three-month absence due to a torn meniscus. Prior to that injury she also suffered a ten-month layoff due to a torn ACL.
The Kiwi made it to the final of the tournament to crown a new champion but ultimately Lyra Valkyria became the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion by defeating Dakota Kai.
