WWE Star Pulled From Title Tournament

One WWE star has been replaced in a title tournament after they fell victim to a vicious backstage attack on Raw.

Chelsea Green became the inaugural WWE Women’s US Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event when she defeated Michin in a tournament final. But that’s not the only tournament or new title coming to WWE.

On Raw, a tournament has been taking place with the winner becoming the first WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Zoey Stark became the latest star to progress on the December 16 edition of Raw as she defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter. However, later in the show, Stark was at the heart of stopping someone else from taking their place in the tournament.

As Jackie Redmond was interviewing the villainous New Day backstage, they were soon interrupted as Zoey Stark, Sonya Deville, and Shayna Baszler attacked Kairi Sane, trapping her arm in a heavy equipment box.

Kairi Sane Out Of WWE Title Tournament

WWE taped two editions of Raw and the one that will air on December 23 saw Kairi Sane replaced in the Women’s Intercontinental Title tournament. Sane’s Damage CTRL partner IYO SKY replaced her, defeating Natalya and Alba Fyre.

After the show SKY and Dakota Kai sent a warning to the PFC for their assault and vowed that when Sane returned they’d be waiting for them. There is no word as of yet if there is a real injury concern that has caused Kairi Sane to be taken out of the tournament.
