WWE Star Praises Roman Reigns, Wants To Face Him In The Ring

Karrion Kross has acknowledged the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.

In 2021, Kross had a quick stint on the WWE main roster. Debuting in July, he would only last a few months before being released by the promotion in November due to claimed budget cuts by the Vince McMahon regime.

While the two-time NXT Champion was on WWE Raw, he would have a hard time thriving, with his gimmick being criticized due to its presentation without Scarlett Bordeaux, who was a key part of Kross’ character in NXT.

After Vince McMahon’s retirement back in July with Paul “Triple H” Levesque taking over the direction of WWE creative, Karrion Kross was brought back and made his debut on August 5’s edition of Smackdown, attacking and choking out Drew McIntyre while he was confronting Roman Reigns.

After Extreme Rules, Kross would make an appearance on “The Ringer Wrestling Show” fresh off of his Strap Match victory against Drew McIntyre, and he was asked who he wanted his next opponent to be in the squared circle. Kross didn’t hold back, saying that he has a target on Roman Reigns.

However, Kross also went on to praise Roman Reigns, comparing him to the legendary Bruno Sammartino, who still holds the record for the longest reign as WWE Champion at 2,803 days. For Reigns, his current tally as WWE Universal Champion is at 771 days. After taking out Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns unified both the WWE Universal Championship and WWE Championship.

“I feel like everyone should want to be in the ring with Roman Reigns. For me, I hope nobody minds that I’m comparing him but to me, he’s our modern-day Bruno. What he’s doing right now, in my opinion, is historic for our company’s history.

This art of storytelling, it’s an amazing thing, and it’s going very, very well. People are having fun, they’re enjoying what they’re watching. It’s something different every week, but like, I could go on and on. That is the guy that I’d want to be in the ring with.”

Karrion Kross also went on to say that when it comes to giving the people what they want, he’s open to any idea. Kross went on to say that he loves the vibe of being a part of a headline match, and that’s what he wants to provide to the WWE Universe.

“Aside from that, I mean, I’m a people pleaser. So whoever people really want to see me in the ring with me personally, that’s the direction I’m going to lean in. I like the big fight feel. I like those freak show fights. Those Superman versus Batman, ‘This shouldn’t happen, we wish it would happen. But there’s no way it can happen.’

Then it does happen and happens in WWE, and that’s why people come to see the show to cultivate that energy in a building. I wake up every day for that, I train for that, I’m aiming for that, you know?”

Also in the interview, Karrion Kross mentioned that during his 2021 run on WWE’s main roster, fans made fun of him and laughed at him, however, things are completely different now, saying his Extreme Rules appearance got nothing but positive reviews from fans.
