WWE Star Admits “People Feel Angry” About John Cena’s Final Match
One WWE star has admitted that people are not happy in the slightest about how John Cena’s final match played out.
John Cena competed in the final match of his legendary career at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. Gunther won the right to be Cena’s last opponent by virtue of winning a 16-man Last Time Is Now tournament.
The Ring General vowed to do the unthinkable and make Cena quit in his final outing, but nobody really believed that the man who preached “Never give up” for over 20 years would ever submit. But that is exactly what happened as Cena meekly tapped out while trapped in the sleeper hold.
Such was the fan unhappiness with how Cena’s last match played out, those in attendance showered Triple H with “You f*cked up” chants as he led the WWE locker room to ringside to pay tribute to the 17-time world champion.
WWE Fans Angry About John Cena’s Retirement Match
Speaking to the Toronto Sun’s No Holds Barred, Natalya admitted that people are not happy about the way John Cena’s last match went down:
People online are upset. People feel angry. I mean, a lot of people are just sad and hurt and p*ssed that he’s retiring. Yeah, we knew we weren’t going to get John Cena wrestling forever… People, they’re feeling everything. I don’t think people are happy because, at the end of the day, nobody really wanted to see John leave, and they didn’t like the way he left.
However, Natalya noted that she was happy that Cena got to end his career on his own terms:
What I really love about John’s ending is that he left on his terms. I talk about this in my book, about beating the house. Very, very, very few professional athletes get to beat the house. Very few get to leave on their own terms. Most people leave because they’re forced into it; they’re forced into retirement; they have to go.
