A popular WWE star has lifted the lid on their injury struggles.

Kairi Sane has been out of action since early December and initially the reason why was something of a mystery.

In January the star said she was dealing with an arm issue, but she now shared more details on the true extent of the problem. In a post on social media, Sane revealed that she’d torn a ligament in her thumb that required surgery.

The former Women’s Tag Team Champion said she’d been struggling badly with grip strength, but she now feels stronger than ever. In recent weeks it’s been reported that Sane is close to making her return.

“Three months ago, I tore a ligament in my thumb and couldn’t even open a bottle cap. Now, I’ve fully regained my grip strength—and I’m even stronger than before. I’m truly grateful from the bottom of my heart to Dr. Hirsch, who performed my surgery. He was such a kind and wonderful doctor. I wish I had taken a photo with him to remember that moment.”

Update On WWE Star Kevin Owens

While Kairi Sane is close to a return, one of WWE’s biggest names is only just starting their road back to the ring. On April 4, Kevin Owens announced that he’d been informed by doctors that he required neck surgery after suffering an injury back in January.

Despite the severity of the problem, Owens continued to wrestle for another two months but he’s now been forced to withdraw from WrestleMania.

Despite an earlier report claiming otherwise, Kevin Owens is yet to undergo surgery. The update from Fightful Select noted that WWE doesn’t expect the former World Champion to wrestle again in 2025, and some feel he could also miss WrestleMania 42.
