Top WWE Star Opens Up On Beef With Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair was determined to keep her spot.

The second half of 2025 has seen the reinvention of Charlotte Flair. Gone is the icy demeanor of The Queen, and by her own admission, in its place has been a character that more closely remembers the woman behind the titles and success, Ashley Fliehr.

During this period, Flair has seen her popularity increase dramatically as her unlikely partnership with Alexa Bliss blossomed. But as Wargames and Survivor Series approached, a rivalry from her part came back into the picture.

When the prospect of teaming with Rhea Ripley for the match arrived, Flair walked out of SmackDown, leaving her prospective teammates hanging. However, a week later, the pair reached a truce, and Flair joined the team featuring Ripley, Bliss, Iyo Sky, and finally, AJ Lee.

Rhea Ripley Wanted To Topple Charlotte Flair

On the latest Raw Recap, Ripley looked back on her rocky relationship with Flair and explained that it was their desire to be the best that immediately put them on a collision course.

“For now, we have settled our problems. We know that when I first came to Raw, I wanted to prove myself, and I wanted to be the best. And I had always looked up to someone like Charlotte Flair, and I knew that she was one of the top dogs, if not the top dog.

So I took a leap, and it was like a sink-or-swim situation. And obviously, Charlotte, being Charlotte, she fought back. So that’s where our beef pretty much started. And that’s the whole reason that we had beef was because we wanted to be the best, and we wanted to prove to everyone, not just ourselves and each other, but everyone that we were the best.”
