Major WWE Star Offered New Contract, Future Hangs In Balance

Triple H WWE

AEW is looking to land another top WWE star.

Back in August, Kevin Owens got fans talking when he revealed he was yet to start discussions over a new contract. His comments were especially interesting as it’s been public knowledge for several months that his current deal expires in January 2025.

That contract, signed in late 2021, is said to be worth between $2 and $3 million per year.

At the time it was no secret that AEW was looking to sign the star, and he remains good friends with several members of the All Elite roster.

Kevin Owens Offered New WWE Deal, AEW Interested

It’s now been reported by Fightful Select that WWE has offered Owens a new contract. The report adds that although nothing has been signed, “communication has been made.”

However, there remains “major interest” in Owens from AEW, and they’re expected to make him an offer if he does reach free agency.

It was recently reported that WWE had approached several Superstars about signing new contracts, and there’s been a big push in 2024 to lock down a number of big names. On September 17th it was reported that Sheamus was the latest star to sign a new deal, following in the footsteps of Asuka who recently signed her own long-term agreement.

Since the start of the year, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Natalya, and more have all signed new deals.
