Major WWE Star Not A Fan Of Product Before Triple H Takeover
A top WWE star says they’re lucky Triple H is now running the company.
Since assuming control of WWE creative, Triple H has been ringing the changes. That’s included reshaping WWE’s roster and giving a spotlight to those that had been overlooked by Vince McMahon.
Although his run on the main roster began under the guidance of Vince McMahon, Gunther has arguably befitted hugely from Triple H’s promotion. The Austrian star has been positioned as one of the biggest stars in the company, enjoying a record-breaking Intercontinental Title reign in the process.
While appearing on Gorilla Position, Gunther admitted he was hesitant to move to the United States in part due to a dislike of the WWE product under Vince McMahon.
“I don’t know, but it was one of the reasons why, for a long time I didn’t want to go to the US. The product before Triple H was not what I enjoyed. I just didn’t want to be part of that. I am who I am and that’s what I can do best. A big part of that is I need to have my time in the ring and have that time to put on the matches I can put on. That chance would not be there under the old regime.
With Triple H, he always saw that in me, and he always had that vision for me. I got lucky that a lot of things in my career took place at the right time. It was a little bit of a leap of faith when I first made the move over. Everything worked out in the end,”
Legend Heaps Praise On Triple H
Triple H has also come in for praise from WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson.
Speaking on his own podcast, Anderson praised The Game’s mind of the wrestling business, and how he’s used that to transition from the ring to the boardroom.
