WWE Star Reacts To Nickname Being Used By AEW

AEW Dynamite saw Christian Cage rechristen his two disciples and the nickname he chose for Nick Wayne sounded very familiar to one WWE NXT star.

Christian Cage was not happy at the result of his match at AEW Full Gear which saw him team with Nick Wayne and Luchasaurus in a loss to Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland.

Despite Cage being the one to actually knock out Luchasaurus with the TNT Title belt before running off and abandoning his partners, he laid the blame for the loss squarely at Luchasaurus’ feet. As a result, Christian Cage renamed Luchasaurus on Dynamite, giving him the moniker Killswitch after Cage’s own finishing move.

Nick Wayne was spared the same humiliation Cage put Luchasaurus through and was instead bestowed with the nickname ‘The Prodigy.’

WWE’s Roxanne Perez Takes Issue With Nick Wayne’s New Nickname

That name is of course used by former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. Perez took to social media – before deleting the post – to share a GIF of herself from a match where she declared “I am the prodigy.”

Of course, this isn’t the first case of two wrestlers sharing the same nickname and there were some raised eyebrows when both Britt Baker in AEW and Bayley in WWE were both referring to themselves as The Role Model.
