WWE Star Misses Title Match Due To Surgery

A veteran WWE superstar missed out on a title match due to claims of having surgery that prevented him from competing.

One of the big title matches at the WWE-AAA Worlds Collide: Las Vegas event was supposed to be a AAA Tag Team Championship match between the champions Pagano & Psycho Clown against the legendary WWE tag team, The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods.

While there was a AAA Tag Team Championship match at Worlds Collide, it wasn’t Kingston teaming with Woods. Instead, it was honorary New Day member “Big G” Grayson Waller filling in for Woods.

During an interview that aired on Worlds Collide, Woods claimed he had an injury, so Waller took his spot in the match.

On X/Twitter, Xavier Woods posted a message and photos of the surgery he had.

In a follow up message, he noted it was “lipoma” not lymphoma. A quick search of lipoma reveals this: “To remove a lipoma, a doctor can perform a surgical excision, which involves cutting out the fatty lump under local anesthesia, or use liposuction to extract the fatty tissue with a needle.”

It should be noted that Xavier Woods is often a bit over the top as a heel character, so sometimes he might stretch the truth on social media just because he’s playing a character.

What Happened When WWE’s Grayson Waller Filled In For Xavier Woods In AAA Tag Team Title Match?

Unfortunately for The New Day, the team of Kingston and Waller weren’t able to take the AAA Tag Team Titles from Pagano & Psycho Clown. The ending of the match saw Psycho Clown do La Majistral Cradle to Waller for the win.

After the match, the WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks, including all five members of their group, attacked Pagano & Clown, so that will likely lead to a feud between the two championship teams.

Since The New Day is known to complain a lot, they could complain to get another shot at the AAA Tag Team Titles since Woods didn’t compete as advertised.
