WWE Star Took “Macho Man” Randy Savage To School Show And Tell

WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals Shocking Backstage Confrontation With Randy Savage

School show and tell is a little bit different when your dad is friends with “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

As a budding athlete and the daughter of wrestling legend Ric Flair, it was a matter of when and not if Charlotte would find her way into the ring. And although she didn’t make her own in-ring debut until 2012, that didn’t mean that wrestling hadn’t already been a constant and somewhat bizarre presence in her life.

This included rocking up at school flanked by her famous father and “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

“Macho Man” Randy Savage Is The Show

While speaking to the Games with Names podcast, Flair recalled the bizarre moment her dad decided she should take Randy Savage to visit her elementary school.

“I took Macho Man to show and tell in kindergarten,” she said. “So they were in town. I don’t know if it was for a show or promotion. My dad brought him by Providence Day where I went to elementary school. He was just like walking down in his Zubaz. You know those? My dad and him, but I was so young.

I just remember glimpses, like the side he walked down in the cafeteria. I don’t know if [the other kids] even knew who he was because we were so young.”

When asked what Savage contributed to the class, Flair said he was just himself and that was more than enough. She added that because she was around wrestling so much, she didn’t fully understand how unique her position really was.

“[Savage] is the show, but I did bring my dad’s big gold belt one time for show and tell, and that was cool. But even growing up, I didn’t really realize what these things were or what he meant to the industry, my dad. Because I just was around it so much, it [becomes normal.] Like Arn Anderson was my uncle, not really, but.”

During the same interview, Charlotte Flair revealed that she was initially banned from using the “Flair” name in WWE, while she was forbidden from using her father’s famous chops during matches or performing his “Woooo!” taunt on television.
