WWE Star Loves Kevin Nash Comparisons

Kevin Nash Recalls The Time He Thought A Wrestler Died During A WWE Match

A WWE star has talked up comparisons to Kevin Nash.

Throughout her career, Raquel Rodriguez has often been compared to Kevin Nash and was given the nickname “Big Mami Cool” while with NXT. The moniker is a reference to Nash’s time as Diesel in the early to mid-1990s.

When Nash joined WWE in 1993 he was paired with Shawn Michaels and worked as his bodyguard. During this period the pair won tag team gold and Nash won the Intercontinental Title. Eventually, the duo broke up and engaged in a rivalry over the World Championship.

Rodriguez was given her nickname after playing the “Diesel” to the “Shawn Michaels” of the likes of Dakota Kai and more recently Liv Morgan.

After a lengthy absence through injury, Rodriguez returned to WWE at Bad Blood where she linked up with Morgan and became part of Judgment Day.

Raquel Rodriguez Happy To Be Compared With WWE Legend

While appearing on The Wrestling Classic on Casual Conversations, Rodriguez explained why she’s so flattered to be compared to the WWE Hall of Famer.

“I love it. I think Diesel is such a great character. I loved watching his A&E episode too where they talked about him and Razor Ramon [Scott Hall], and their personalities and how they used to be big jokesters. That’s me, pretty much, to a tee.

I absolutely love getting to play Big Mami Cool. I feel like I’ve been doing it since NXT and it’s been a nickname that the fans have given me and I’ve used every now and again, too. I absolutely love it. It’s the best comparison that I could have,”

In November, Kevin Nash claimed he was going to be heading to NXT before the end of 2024, but the veteran was forced to undergo shoulder surgery and the appearance never happened.

Nash had been backstage at SummerSlam earlier in 2024, but he hadn’t appeared on television for several years.
