WWE Star Loses Major Title Without Being Pinned

Triple H WWE

One WWE star has lost a major championship despite not being pinned or submitting during a match.

TNA has been in turmoil ever since WWE’s Trick Williams captured the TNA World Title from Joe Hendry. At Slammiversary, Williams put his title on the line in a three-way match against Hendry and Mike Santana, but despite going up against two stars, Williams was still able to retain.

Things had gotten worse for TNA earlier in the night as NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defeated TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich to win that gold as well. This left the two biggest titles in TNA around the waists of WWE stars. But at NXT Heatwave, that changed.

At Heatwave, Jayne put her TNA Knockouts Title on the line against Masha Slamovich and Ash By Elegance in a triple threat match. Jacy Jayne looked to have the match won when she hit Slamovich with the rolling encore. However, the Elgance Brand at ringside pulled Jayne from the ring, allowing Ash By Elegance to hit the swanton bomb on Slamovich to pin her and win the gold.

That means the WWE star avoided being pinned or submitting to lose the title as both Ash By Elegance and Masha Slamovich are TNA-contracted stars.

Heatwave Has Major Title Implications For WWE Stars

Jacy Jayne won’t have too long to mourn her loss, as Heatwave also saw the next number one contender for her NXT Women’s Title decided. Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Lola Vice battled in another triple threat match for the right to challenge for Jayne’s gold, with Vice picking up the victory.

Heatwave’s main event saw Oba Femi retain his NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans just days after Evans earned the right to challenge Femi for the title with a win over TNA World Champion Trick Williams.
