WWE Star Clears Up Common Locker Room Misconception
According to one star, people have the wrong idea about the WWE locker room.
Back in February, Maxxine Dupri faced a fan backlash against her performance at a live event due to her inexperience in the ring. That reaction has now become part of a storyline, with Candice LeRae blasting her for being an “embarrassment” in the ring. During the promo, which established LeRae as a heel, she also claimed the women in the locker room were saying worse things than anyone on the internet.
While the women’s locker room might be vicious in-storyline, Dupri says that couldn’t be further from the truth in real life. During an appearance on Wellness Her Way, Dupri said there is a misconception that the women’s locker room is “catty,” but in her experience it’s the opposite.
“A misconception is what our locker room is like. I think people assume that it’s catty and everyone is at each other’s throats.
“We have the most fun locker room. It’s unreal. We have the best time. We have a locker room filled with the most amazing women, who are so talented and trying to lift each other up.
“I was not expecting that when I got called up. I was nervous, I didn’t know. When I got called up, I was like, ‘Oh, this is amazing.’ If you lean into that role with a kind heart and loving hand, everyone reciprocates that back, and it’s awesome.”
Maxxine Dupri Opens Up On WWE Scrutiny
In a recent interview, Maxxine Dupri admitted that she feels an added level of pressure in her matches because she has been given a shot when there are people who think she isn’t ready. Despite this, she is happy to have been given the opportunity and is trying her hardest to keep getting better.
