Major WWE Star Has To Interfere If Goldberg Beats Gunther

Goldberg’s championship reign may be short-lived.

Goldberg and Gunther will square off for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE Hall Of Famer, Bully Ray, shared an angle in which Da Man may soon drop the title if he beats The Ring General.

On the most recent episode of WWE RAW, Goldberg returned to WWE and confronted Gunther. The two-time World Heavyweight Champion called out Seth Rollins and challenged him to cash-in his briefcase that night. However, his calls were answered by Goldberg. The former WCW Champion reminded the Austrian star about their encounter at Bad Blood and challenged him for a title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. On the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray spoke about the upcoming match and said that if the 58-year-old star wins the title, Seth Rollins should be immediately involved.

“If Goldberg were to defeat Gunther to become the world champion, and the match is built correctly, and Goldberg, in his hometown of Atlanta, raises that championship above his head, you should be able to count to 1-Mississippi before Seth Rollins’ music hits.” [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

What Happened Between Gunther And Goldberg At Bad Blood?

At Bad Blood last year, tensions exploded when the two-time World Heavyweight Champion took a shot at Goldberg and his son Gage, who were seated ringside. In a bold and disrespectful promo, Gunther insulted the legend’s legacy and questioned his parenting, drawing loud reactions from the crowd.

The verbal jabs proved too much and Da Man leaped the barricade, charging the ring in a moment that nearly erupted into a full-blown brawl. Security quickly intervened, pulling the veteran away before fists could fly. The intense confrontation ended without physical contact but left fans stunned and buzzing.
