John Cena is hanging up his wrestling boots this December. AJ Styles has announced that 2026 will be his last active year in wrestling.

Now, another WWE star is preparing for an in-ring retirement.

WWE star Bayley recently had an interview on The Nikki & Brie Show, where she talked about her current persona in WWE.

She is currently playing the role of a split-personality character where she switches between the “Hugger” and the “Role Model.”

It is a very interesting gimmick that she’s playing alongside a tag team run with Lyra Valkyria.

But unfortunately, the gimmick hasn’t gotten much success. Still, Bayley is happy with the character.

WWE Star Bayley Drops A Subtle Retirement Tease

While discussing her characters in depth, Bayley made a statement claiming that she’s not going to wrestle forever.

This casual mention was a potential sign that the 36-year-old star has already started planning her retirement.

“It’s a weird time in wrestling, too, where you can’t really tell what the fans want right now, if they want more of the realism, like this is this person, and they’re a professional wrestler, and they’re a WWE superstar, and this is what they do, and they’re just them.

Back in the ’90s or early 2000s was straight-up all character stuff; it was all gimmicky stuff, but that’s the stuff I love. Like, I’m not gonna be able to wrestle for the rest of my life, so I may as well have this character that I can lean on, which is what I did when I first got signed.

Nobody cared about my wrestling; they wanted to see me hug somebody. I really enjoy doing that kind of stuff, and if you can mix it in with having good tag matches or having a tag partner like Lyra, who legit is one of the top five wrestlers we have in the company, right?”
